A meandering discursive essay telling 13 tales of things below the surface of the sea – scientific curiosities, myths and legends of the deep and the strange politics of the ocean floor.
The essay was first performed in September, 2014 as part of the B-Side multimedia festival in Portland, UK and then in Brighton as part of the Brighton Photo Biennial.
More recently ’13 Fathoms’ was been performed in 2018 amongst the giant fish tanks of Berlin Zoo’s Aquarium and later that year amongst the stuffed whales and dolphins of Gothenburg’s Natural History Museum in Sweden.
